Exber wins Lupton Senior Invitational
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (May 29, 2011) -- In the Senior division of the Lupton Invitational, Brady Exber collected a total of 108 points in stableford scoring (even par) to win the championship by 3 points over Steve Johnson.
“This was the first senior tournament I’ve played in,” said the 55-year-old Exber. “One of the guys I was playing with said, ‘You’re supposed to win your first one.’
“Guess I proved him right.”

This is the senior division of an event named
after Honors Course club founder John T.
Lupton. The event made it's debut in 2005 on
a spectacular Pete Dye
golf course
near Chatanooga. Mitch Voges won the 1991
U.S.
Amateur here, and Tiger Woods won the
1996
NCAA
Championship here despite a final round 80.
Stableford
format
for the Senior division. Committee invites 72
mid
ams and 54 senior ams. The field will be cut to
approximately 75% in each division following the
2nd
round.
