Pickavance Wins Sonoma County Amateur
SONOMA, CALIF (May 17, 2011) --A record field of 164 contestants teed it up at Foxtail Golf Club this weekend for the 2011 Sonoma County Amateur. “Awesome greens and excellent course conditions” was the buzz amongst the best players in the North Bay.
Defending champion Cole Pickavance, a member of the Sonoma State University golf team, led the field after round 1 on Saturday with score of 71, one under-par on the North Course.
Pickavance held onto the lead shooting 77 on the North Course Sunday under wet and windy conditions winning the Championship for the second straight year with a score of 4-over-par 148.
Runner up in the championship flight was Aaron Wilgus of Foxtail Golf Club shooting 78-74--152.
