Many players noticed a very professional-looking photographer and thought he was from one of the local publications like The San Francisco Chronicle. Not so, that was Frank Albelda of Alameda, on assignment for amateurgolf.com. To view his photo gallery, visit our Facebook page. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Mar 5, 2011) -- With temperatures in the mid-60's and light winds, conditions were right for low scores in the qualifying round of the women's flight of the San Francisco City Championship.

Casie Cathrea of Livermore and Hannah Suh of San Jose both shot 2-under rounds of 71 on the par 73 course at Harding Park.

Cathrea, 15, finished T4 at the Canadian Women's Amateur last year and advanced to the quarter-finals at the 2009 USGA Women's Publinx at just 13 years old. She had five birdies and three bogeys on the round.

Briana Mao of Granite Bay, a senior at Saint Francis in Sacramento, was a shot back at 1-under, while Samantha Moyal of Alameda shot even par 73.

There was a 6-for-2 play-off to determine the final match play spots. Of the six players who shot 78, Kortnie Maxoutopoulis of Pleasanton and Alyson Harvie of Dublin were victorious. Maxoutopoulis is the 16th seed and will face the defending champion, Samantha Esguerra. Harvie will face co-medalist Hannah Suh in the round of 16 tomorrow.
