SANTA MARIA, Calif. , (Aug 8, 2010) – Levi Garcia followed up an impressive opening round 65 with a 67 at the Rancho Maria Golf Course to capture the Santa Maria Valley Amateur Championship by four shots over second place finsher Ronald Monaco at 69-67—136.
Justin Warthen came in solo third with a score of 69-67—136 and Daniel Miller was fourth with a score of 69-73—143.
In the A flight Matt Sobczak fired a net 66-69—135 to edge out Daniel Shaffer whose score was 68-68—136.
Mike Portman shot 69-73—142 to tie third with Dorris Toler with a score 70-72—142.
In the B flight Terry Fail had a 72-67—139 to win by one over Marv Moneymaker who shot 72-68—140.

Two day event played at the historic Rancho Maria
Country Club, former site of the California State
Open.
The short but challenging course rolls through a
beautiful setting with no houses in site. And have
you
ever heard of a Santa Maria BBQ? They originated
here
and players will be treated to them after play each
day.
Also included in the entry fee is a generous prize
fund
and cart on the second day.
Championship and Senior Championship (ages 50+)
flights
with gross scoring, plus flights determined by
handicap with
net scoring. Seniors can compete in the
Championship flight.
Must be 18 or older.
