Sandpiper Invitational: Final Results

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (Nov. 17, 2008) -- St. Mary's College golfer Rhett Colbrese and former College of the Desert golfer Allen Geiberber won the Sandpiper Invitational, held at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, by three shots over Matt Free and Mike McCaskey.
The winning pair put up a 135 in two-day better-ball of partners tournament, with the course playing to a par of 144. Free and McCaskey finished at 6-under 138.
Jim Lessup and Brent Van Loggerenberg were third at 147, followed by Michael Nash and Jim Van Wyck at 149.
In the net division, Jon Schneider and Bill McLean carded a 134, topping Rob Ferguson and John Ulman by a stroke and third place finishers David Burns and Thomas Clarksean by two.
Jeff Mezger Sr. and Jr. took fourth at 137.
