Purdue holds slim lead over top ranked Ole Miss at Puerto Rico Classic

Host school Purdue has taken the lead heading into the final round of the 2025 Puerto Rico Classic at The Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The Boilermakers are 28-under after consecutive rounds of 274, while Ole Miss is 27-under and just one shot back of the leaders. The top-ranked Rebels shot a team round 16-under 272 to take the round-one lead.
South Carolina is in solo third place at 22-under, while Georgia and LSU are T4 at 20-under to round out the top five.

In the individual competition, Kent Hsiao of Purdue and Cohen Trolio of Ole Miss are tied at 12-under and lead the field by four shots. Both golfers have shot consecutive rounds of 6-under 66 in the first two rounds.
Hsiao is currently ranked No. 261 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings, and Trolio is ranked No. 161.
Algot Kleen of LSU, Arni Sveinsson of LSU, Buck Brumlow of Georgia, Brock Blais of South Carolina, Johan Widal of Marquette, and Sam Easterbrook of Purdue are all T3 at 8-under and four shots back of the leaders.
Michael La Sasso of Ole Miss, Paul Chang of Virginia, and Brett Schell of North Florida are T9 at 7-under to round out the top ten with 18 holes remaining.
18 golfers in the field are seven shots or less back of the leaders.
According to Brentley Romine of the Golf Channel, a virus is spreading around the tournament, making at least six players vomit and as many as ten players sick.
