Ukrainian golf phenom Lev Grinberg finishes T37 at DP World Tour French Open

Lev Grinberg, a 16-year-old amateur golfer from Ukraine, finished the DP World Tour's French Open at 6-under and T37, putting a bow on a great week for the teenager.

Grinberg carded rounds of 66-71-70-71 to get to 6-under for the tournament. 

The young phenom made the cut after the first two rounds and started strong on Saturday for his third round, recording four birdies on the front nine and rising to T7 and 9-under. However, a loose tee shot on No. 15 that went right and into the water saw him hit his approach into the water short of the green, making a triple bogey 7 to fall back to 6-under. 

He had to make an eight-footer on No. 15 to make a triple bogey as well. He recorded six birdies, two bogeys, and a triple in his third round. 

His final round was much calmer, as he made one birdie, one bogey, and 16 pars.

FIRST TWO ROUNDS RECAP

Grinberg has been making significant waves in the international golf scene. He has once again put himself in the golf spotlight on the DP World Tour after an impressive opening round of 5-under 66. He will easily make the cut at the French Open and enjoy playing the weekend.

The Ukrainian golfer took advantage of the familiar surroundings of Le Golf National, home of the French Golf Federation. He is living in the dormitories as he develops his game in the French Golf Foundation's academy.

"It's definitely some experience," said Grinberg. "Playing on an Olympic golf course, playing any DP World Tour venues, it's great, and you just play with the pros. I'm very fortunate."
