Terrill Samuel finishes top 20 and earns low amateur at U.S. Senior Women's Open

Terrill Samuel shot a final-round even-par 71 to finish 8-over and T19 and win low amateur honors at the U.S. Senior Women's Open at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Samuel carded rounds of 75-70-76-71 to get to 8-over and win the low amateur honors by four shots over Judith Kyrinis and Sarah Jones Gallagher, who finished 12-over and T31.
Last year, Kyrinis recorded the lowest finish ever by an amateur at this championship, finishing T6 at 2-over.
Brenda Corrie Kuehn finished 13-over and T35 and will now head to Southern Hills Country Club, where she will join her daughter Rachel in the field for the U.S. Women's Amateur, starting Monday.
FIRST TWO ROUNDS RECAP
After weather forced the second round to be finished on Saturday morning, seven amateurs made the cut at the U.S. Senior Women's Open at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Terrill Samuel led the group of seven at 3-over, while Sarah Jones Gallagher, Judith Kyrinis, and Kristine Franklin made the cut at 5-over. Samuel carded rounds of 75-70 in the opening two rounds.
Franklin shot an impressive even par 71 to sit T11 after round one, but a 5-over 76 saw her fall back in the leaderboard during round two.
Last year, Kyrinis recorded the lowest finish ever by an amateur at this championship, finishing T6 at 2-over.
Michele Thompson finished the first two rounds at 6-over. Brenda Corrie Kuehn, who will play in the U.S. Women's Amateur with her daughter Rachel, finished the first two rounds at 7-over, along with Shelly Stouffer.
