Roy Kim comes from three shots behind to win Los Angeles City title

Roy Kim of Los Angeles, Calif., shot 6-under 282, following his rounds of 73-67-72-70 to register a two-shot win Los Angeles City Men’s title at Griffith Park Golf Course - Wilson Course in Los Angeles, Calif.

Kim entered the final round at 4-under, trailing Daniel Katz of Simi Valley by three strokes, as Katz held a solo lead at 7-under after 54 holes. Kim shot a final round of 70, featuring three birdies, with his only obstacle coming on the par-5 16th, where he made his lone bogey of the round. In contrast, Katz encountered difficulties from the start and posted a 75 for a runner-up finish at the tournament.

Last year, Kim shot rounds of 68-71-72-72 to finish T5 at the tournament. The defending champion, Drayton Joseph, did not participate in the competition.



The 2022 edition winner, Ramiz Jamal, carded rounds of 68-74-72-76 to finish in solo eleventh place finish at 2-over.

Tim Hogarth, a 10-time winner of the tournament, finished in 12th place at 4-over par with rounds of 71-72-78-71. Last year, he narrowly missed his 11th title, finishing at 10-under par, for a T-2 finish, four shots behind Drayton Joseph, who won with a score of 14-under.

ABOUT THE Los Angeles City

72 Hole Stroke Play at Griffith Park (Wilson and Harding) and Rancho Park Golf Course. The field will be cut to 48 players and ties for the weekend. To qualify to play in the Championship Flight you must have an index of 3.5 or less. If you do not have an official index number you may play in the Championship Flight but you must provide a letter from your PGA Golf Professional or College Coach stating your ability to play in the Championship Flight and you will be placed at the end of the field. The Maximum number of entries is 148. If entries are oversubscribed players will be put on standby list in order of applications received.

Handicap Flights play 54 Holes of Stroke Play. The field will be cut to 30 players (top 6 in each flight) for Sunday’s final round.
