Brandon Robison from Centerville, Ut., and Johnny Walker from Chandler, Ariz., are tied for the lead at 7-under at the 2024 Southwestern Men's Amateur at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Walker, a University of Arizona golfer, reflected on his day, saying, “I was the last tee time off yesterday and the first one off today, so I pretty much went with the flow. There was not a break in between. The weather is more in my favor because I am used to it. It’s me and the course, don’t worry about other people.”

James Roller from Jenks, Okla., Jack Dozer from Phoenix, Ariz., Ethan Wilson from Canada, and Hunter Swanson from Denver, Colo., are just one stroke behind at 6-under. Swanson, who plays for Colorado, recorded the low round of the day with a superb 7-under 65.

“Yesterday, I felt like I left a lot out there; the longest putt I made was a three-footer. Today, I wanted to make a putt outside of three feet, and I did it pretty early,” Swanson noted.

A total of 42 men made the cut at even par or better.

The third round of the tournament continues on Friday, with the women’s division starting at 7:30 AM and the men’s division at 8:33 AM.
