Elice Fredriksson wins St. Rule Trophy

Elice Fredriksson of Sweden shot 15-under 211, following rounds of 69-73-69 to register a two-shot win at the St. Rule Trophy at the St. Andrews Links, the home of golf in Scotland.
Charlotte Naughton from England carded rounds of 68-74-71 to register a runner-up finish at 13-under.
Elice and Charlotte commenced the final round tied for the lead at 8-under par. Elice swiftly seized control from the onset, opening with a birdie and subsequently launching a barrage of birdies from Hole No. 2 through Hole No. 6, punctuated by another on the 9th, tallying an impressive 6-under on the front nine alone.
Meanwhile, Charlotte found herself trailing by three strokes. The back nine unfolded smoothly for Elice, almost appearing like a mere formality, as she concluded with a remarkable 7-under 69 for the round, maintaining a two-stroke lead over Charlotte, who carded a respectable 5-under 71.
Elice, ranked 366th on the
AmateurGolf.com/Golfweek Rankings has played in seven ranked events this season and registered a win and five other top-10 finishes to her resume.
The 54-hole tournament unfolds across two days, with players tackling 36 holes on the par-75 New Course in a single day, followed by the final round on the par-76 Old Course the next day.
Additionally, the tournament features an Under-18 competition known as The Lawson Trophy, which runs concurrently. This trophy was clinched by Charlotte Naughton, who not only claimed victory in this category but also secured the overall runner-up position in the competition.
