After having a successful collegiate career at Rutgers and Oklahoma, the 2022 Haskins Award winner Chris Gotterup can now call himself a PGA Tour winner.
Gotterup shot 22-under at the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C., by six shots over Alistair Docherty and Davis Thompson.
This was his 27th PGA Tour start and earns him a spot in the 2024 PGA Championship.
Gotterup, who transferred to Oklahoma from Rutgers for his final season, finished as the unanimous No. 1 collegiate golfer in the country in 2022, per the Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.
In 2022, he won the East Lake Cup and Puerto Rico Classic and finished runner-up at the Big 12 Championship. At the 2022 NCAA Championships, he finished one stroke out of the lead, finishing T5 against the nation's best collegiate golfers.
Gotterup helped lead Oklahoma to a school record-tying seven wins in 2021-22, including the program's 18th conference championship. He also guided the Sooners to their sixth consecutive NCAA match play quarterfinals.
In 2021-2022, Gotterup recorded seven top-10 finishes.
