Isabella Rawl leads Clemson to round one lead at ACC Women's Championship

Defending champions, the Clemson Tigers, lead the 2024 ACC Women's Championship at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, N.C., by two shots after an opening-round 10-under 278.
Wake Forest is in solo second place at 8-under, and Virginia, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina are T3 at 5-under.
Florida State is in solo sixth place at 2-under, NC State is in solo seventh place at even par, and Miami is in solo eighth place at 5-over. Florida State is playing without sophomore Lottie Woad, who is making her LPGA debut at the Chevron Championship after winning the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur.

Woad shot 1-under in the first round and is currently T18.
In the individual competition, Isabella Rawl shot an impressive 5-under 67 with six birdies and one bogey. Rawl is currently ranked No. 249 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings.
She birdies holes No. 15, 17, and 18 to get into the clubhouse at 5-under and snag the first-round lead.
The standout was key for the Tigers last year in their upset of Virginia in the ACC championship finals last year. She won her match 1-up, securing the winning point.

It is an incredibly crowded leaderboard behind Rawls, with seven golfers two shots back at 3-under and T2 and eight golfers three shots back at 2-under and T9. 22 golfers are within five shots of the lead.
