Oregon Duck Invitational: Jackson Buchanan leads Illinois to third win of the season

Jackson Buchanan and Illinois completed the sweep at the Oregon Duck Invitational at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
Buchanan shot rounds of 73-67-67 to finish 6-under and finish three shots clear of the field. Javier Barcos of Utah finished in solo second place at 3-under.
Mason Snyder of Loyola Marymount, Daniel Svard of Northwestern, and Matthew Manganello of Fresno State all finished T3 at 2-under to round out the top ten.
Buchanan is coming off a solid 2023 campaign, making the final 32 of the North & South Amateur and the U.S. Amateur. He also T2 at the NCAA Division I Championships, T3 at the Patriot All-America, and T5 at the Big Ten Championships.
Buchanan is one of the top amateur golfers in the world and is currently ranked No. 14 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings. This was the third collegiate win of his career, joining the 2023 Purdue Fall Invitational and the 2023 Missouri Tiger Invitational.
In the team competition, Illinois was the only team that finished under par, shooting 2-under and winning by seven shots over Oregon, who finished in solo second place at 5-over.
Illinois opened up the tournament with a round of 294, but consecutive rounds of 278 to close out the tournament and pull away with the win.
Northwestern finished in solo third place at 9-over, Utah finished in solo fourth place at 11-over, and Colorado State rounded out the top five, finishing in solo fifth place at 14-over.
