Silicon Valley Showcase: Pepperdine cruises to easy win

The Pepperdine Women's Golf team dominated the 2024 Silicon Valley Showcase at Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae, Calif., winning the team title by 35 shots.
Pepperdine shot rounds of 287-283-287, which were the three best rounds of any team in the tournament. The Waves had three of the nine-team rounds to break 300.
UCLA finished in solo second place at 40-over, San Jose State finished in solo third place at 47-over, and San Francisco finished in solo fourth place at 57-over. Santa Clara, the host school, rounded out the top five, finishing in solo fifth place at 71-over, 66 shots back of Pepperdine.
Last year, Pepperdine and Stanford tied for the team win at 17-over, and Santa Clara finished in solo third place 39 shots behind the two winners at 56-over.

Jeneath Wong of Pepperdine led the Waves to the team title, beating the field by four shots, and was one of only two golfers to finish under par.
The Pepperdine sophomore earned her first career collegiate victory and finished 7-under after rounds of 68-68-70 to win by four shots over Riana Mission of San Francisco, who finished at 3-under after rounds of 70-69-71.
Wong and Mission were the only two golfers to finish under par. Lauren Gomez of Pepperdine, Lion Higo of Pepperdine, and Natalie Vo of UCLA finished T3 at 2-over.
Wong is currently ranked No. 29 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings. Wong finished in solo eighth place at the Women's Master's of the Amateurs and T2 at The Show.
