South African Amateur: Gregor Graham wins the title behind an impressive final match

After two rounds of stroke play and six match play wins,
Gregor Graham is the 2024 South African Amateur Champion at Royal Johannesburg Golf Club in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Graham defeated Jordan Burnand 4&2. Graham was 3-up through the first 18 holes after shooting 7-under with a double bogey and an impressive nine birdies.
Graham made five more birdies on the second 18 holes to keep Burnand at arm's length and win the championship. He recorded 14 birdies and one double bogey total over the course of 36 holes.
Burnand won the 2024 South African Stroke Play Championship earlier in the month.
Related: SOUTH AFRICAN AMATEUR STROKE PLAY: JORDAN BURNAND BOUNCES BACK TO WIN Graham and Burnand moved on in the stroke play portion, and in the quarterfinals, Burnand defeated Jack Buchanan 4&3 and then defeated medalist Benjamin Weber 5&3 to advance to the championship match.
Gregor Graham defeated Jack Ingham 2&1 in the quarterfinals and defeated Pearce Lewin 4&2 in the semifinals.
Also, in the quarterfinals, Pearce Lewin defeated Thom Linssen 1-up, and Benjamin Weber defeated Dan Copeman 4&2.
The South African Amateur is the premier match-play event in South Africa. The championship starts with 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, from which the low 64 advances to match play.
