South African Amateur: Stroke Play Medalist Benjamin Weber is among the final eight

Benjamin Weber, the medalist in the stroke play portion of the South African Amateur Championship, is one of the final eight golfers who will be vying to hold the trophy at the end of the week at Royal Johannesburg Golf Club in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Weber will now take on Dan Copeman in the quarterfinals as he looks to win both medalist honors and win the match play portion of the championship.
Weber defeated Tristan Leonard 2&1 in the round of 64, defeated Oliver Goldhill 2-up in the round of 32 and defeated Logan Leisher 4&2 in the round of 16.
In the other three matches, Jordan Burnand will take on Jack Buchanan, Thom Linssen will take on Pearce Lewin, and Gregor Graham will take on Jack Ingham as the golfers will look to fill out the final four.
The South African Amateur is the premier match-play event in South Africa. The championship starts with 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, from which the low 64 advances to match play.
