Alvaro Pastor of Madrid, Spain, shot 6-under 207 with rounds of 70-64-73. He finished five shots clear of the field at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort in Cadiz, Spain. The tournament, typically contested over 72 holes, was shortened to 54 holes due to rain observed during its opening round.
Jan Farre, who is ranked 578th on the European Golf Rankings, shot 1-under par to finish runner-up in the tournament. Farre carded rounds of 70-70-72 for the finish.
Farre was closely followed by Ivan Ponsdomenech, a freshman at Nova Southeastern from Spain, and Loïc Ettlin, a redshirt junior at Mississippi State from Switzerland. Both players shot an even-par 213, securing a joint-third finish at the tournament. Ponsdomenech carded rounds of 74-68-71, while Ettlin posted scores of 70-71-72.
Last year, Pastor ranked No. 5 in Spain in the U18 rankings. He entered 15 ranked events and registered a win at the Campeonato de Espana U18 and followed it with three runner-up finishes, along with a ninth-place result at the R&A Boys Amateur Championship in August.
Furthermore, he clinched victory in the 2022 RSHECC Men's Individual Championship and the Campeonato Absoluto de Castilla Y León. In addition, he secured a tie for sixth place in the 2022 Spanish International U18 Stroke Play Championship. Over the past two years, he has accumulated 17 top-10 finishes in Spain. Notably, he garnered attention last year upon signing with Tarleton State Athletics.
The tournament featured the participation of 84 amateurs, of whom only 53 successfully made it through the 36-hole cut.
