Cypress Point Classic: Arizona State takes down Texas in a tiebreaker

Arizona State defeated Texas in the Championship match at the Cypress Point Classic at Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, Calif.
When the six matches were all said and done, it was a 3-3 tie between the Sun Devils and the Longhorns. However, Arizona State won in a tiebreaker because they won more holes on the day.
For Arizona State,
Luke Potter,
Ryggs Johnston, and
Nicholas Prieto won their matches; For Texas,
Christiaan Maas,
Brian Stark, and
Nathan Petronzio won.
Arizona State entered the match play as the No. 2 seed, while Texas entered the match play as the No. 5 seed.
Tennessee defeated Pepperdine in the third-place match, while Auburn defeated Stanford in the fifth-place match.
Georgia Tech made an interesting addition to its roster for the tournament, bringing in backup quarterback Colson Brown since half of their team is at the East Lake Cup.

Walker Cup style college tournament hosted by
Stanford University and played at the iconic Cypress
Point Club. Six player college teams are seeded by
rankings. On Monday, 18 holes
of four-balls will be played, followed by 18 holes of
foursomes. On Tuesday, singles match play will be
played.
