There was no shortage of star power on the 2023 Georgia State Golf Association Senior Amateur Championship leaderboard.

When the dust settled, Jack Larkin Sr. finished in the top spot, shooting 9-under and winning by four shots.

The difference was a 5-under 67 in the second round by Larkin. He was bogey-free that round and finished strong, birding Holes No. 13, 15, and 16. He shot a first-round 2-under 70 and a final-round 2-under 70 to secure the win.

2022 champion Doug Hanzel finished in solo second place, shooting 5-under, and Bob Royak, the 2017 and 2019 champion, finished in solo third place at 4-under.

2020 Louis Brown finished T4 with Greg Kennedy at 3-under.

Larkin and Hanzel were the only two golfers with all three rounds under par. Hanzel shot rounds of 71-71-69 to stay close to Larkin, but the final round 70 from Larkin made the hill too tough to climb for the field.

In the final round, Larkin entered with a five-shot lead and made three birdies and just one bogey. Larkin made one bogey in his final 37 holes after he bogeyed No. 17 in round one.
