Oregon Senior Amateur: Russell Humphrey wins his second in three years

Russell Humphrey finishes at the top of the leaderboard once again in the Oregon Senior Amateur Championship played at the Riverside Golf and Country Club in Portland, Ore.
Humphrey finished the stroke play qualifying round T7 after a round of 2-over 74. Only two players finished under par, with Pat O'Donnell finishing as the medalist after a round of 2-under 70.
In the first round of match play, Humphrey defeated Anthony Ueland 1-up. He then defeated Jay Thompson 3 & 2 in the Sweet 16 match.
He defeated Tim Oneal 4 & 3 in the Quarterfinal to advance to the Semifinals. In the semifinals, he defeated Bob Harrington 2 & 1 to advance to face Poletiek in the Championship Division's final match.
And in the final, Humphrey cruised past Poletiek 5 & 3 to win the Senior Amateur. Humphrey also won the Championship in 2021.
Humphrey was 2-up heading into the back nine and then wins on Holes No. 13, 14, and 15 helped him close the door on Poletiek, winning 5 & 3.

Entries are open to male and female amateur
golfers 50 years of age or older with USGA
Handicap Indexes of 18.1 or less and who are
members in
good
standing of an OGA member club. The field will be
limited to the lowest 96 qualified men. The
defending
champion and 31 finishers from the 18-hole stroke
play qualifier will advance to the single elimination
Championship flight match play portion of the
competition, with the remaining entrants placed in
single elimination match play flights according to
score. There will be NO age bracket flights.
