Jeffrey Zatorski wins Palo Verde Amateur
Jeffrey Zatorski
Jeffrey Zatorski, who recently completed his sophomore year at the University of Texas, shot a final round 66 (-6) to win the Palo Verde Amateur at Grand Canyon University Golf Club on Thursday.
Zatorski played his final 10 holes at 5-under, which included birdies on the final two holes, to finish the tournament at 10-under 203, which was good for a four-stroke victory over Ben Sawaia, a junior at UNLV.
“I drove it well all week," said Zatorski. "My irons were good. I didn’t hit too many terrible shots. My putter was better this week, lots better than it has been. Wedges were good and up and down game was solid too. It means a lot. It’s a confidence booster going into the summer having a few more tournaments. It really helps with the confidence with the putter. The putter has been cold for a long time and this is really going to help me going into the summer.”
