Chris Kamin wins another Arizona Golf Association Championship
Fresh off receiving his 2022 Player of the Year hardware, Chris Kamin (71-70-64-67) secured the Arizona Golf Association's first major of the year by adding the AGA Championship to his résumé. Kamin fired -16 over four days at Aguila Golf Course and overcame a two-shot deficit headed into the final round to secure the win.
Kamin climbed the leaderboard during round three and had the course staff on course-record watch, as he shot 64 in a round that featured his second eagle of the week on hole eight. Kamin, who carded a 67 on Sunday, and defending champion Brian Blanchard were tied for most of the final round; the tie was broken when Blanchard recorded a bogey on 16.
Dating back to last year, Kamin has now captured wins in five of the last six AGA tournaments he played in: Arizona Stroke Play, Arizona Mid-Amateur Championship, Northern Amateur, Players Cup Championship and AGA Championship; four of those are AGA majors.
