The 2019 European Team Champioships have concluded across the continent. An exciting final day of matches has crowned four winning teams from three countries.
Sweden won both the men's and ladies' titles, Denmark triumphed in the Girls' Team Championship, and France won the Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy at Golf de Chantilly.
European Amateur Team Championship
Sweden have won the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship at Ljunghusen Golf Club. The Swedish team, looking to end a 58-year drought for the title, face England in the championship match. The first morning foursomes match of the final went to England. Tom Plumb and Tom Sloman secured a 2&1 victory over Ludvig Aberg and Christoffer Palsson, but Sweden tied the session with a win of their own from David Nyfjall and Vincent Norrman.
The first two points of the afternoon session went to the hosts: Pontus Nyholm won on the 18th, while Ludvig Aberg claimed a 3&1 victory.
England the got one back with Harry Hall winning 2&1, But the Swedish team needed just one more victory. The deciding point was delivered by Albin Bergstrom in the final match to give Sweden it's first European Amateur Team Championship title since 1961.
In the match for third place, last year's bronze medallists, Denmark, took on Scotland.
After securing both of the morning foursomes points, the Scottish team lost the afternoon session. Although one-up wins from Euan Walker and Ryan Lumsden were enough for the four points needed to clinch the last spot on the podium.
European Ladies' Team Championship
Sweden have also won the 2019 european Ladies' Team Championship at Is Molas Resort. The Swedish team defeated Spain in the final to secure back-to-back titles. After winning both of the morning foursomes matches, the Swedish team needed just two points from the afternoon singles to lift the trophy for the ninth time.
World number-one ranked amateur, Frida Kinhult, secured the decisive point for Sweden on the 16th green.
In the match for third place, hosts, Italy, defeated Germany to take home the bronze medals.
European Boys' Team Championship, Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy
France have won the 2019 Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy at Golf de Chantilly. After finishing in the final qualification spot for the Flight A match play, the French team upset top-qualifiers, Spain, in the quarter-finals, and then defeated Sweden to set up a final with Germany.
After the morning foursomes points were shared, Tom Vaillant, Nicolas Muller, and Nathan Trey delivered victories for the French team in the afternoon to lift the trophy for a fourth time.
Sweden defeated Ireland 4-3 in the match for third place.
European Girls' Team Championship
Denmark have won the 2019 European Girls' Team Championship at Parador El Saler. The Danish team defeated hosts, Spain, in the final match to win the event for the first time.
In the match for third place, defending champions, Italy, defeated Germany to take home the bronze medals.
