Bosman, Werner team up to win Texas Women's Partnership

Margaret Bosman and Lorraine Werner came from behind in the final round to win the Women’s Partnership at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas. In all, four flights crowned champions as the second women’s event of the 2019 Texas Golf Association season wrapped up on Tuesday.
Entering the final round with seven points from the first round, The Woodlands duo of Bosman and Werner played lights out as they exceeded their adjusted quota of 52.5 by 25.5 to post 78 points and win the overall championship. Their 36-hole total of 32.5 points bested the second-place overall team of Katherine Kuo and June Hamilton, both of Houston, who finished with 25 points for two rounds.
Claiming victory in Flight 1 is the team of Hoyt/Bishop with 23 points over Northcutt/Collins at 22.5 points. The winners of Flight 2 were Crites/Clemens with a score 16.5, barely edging out Smith-Snider/Higby by a single half point. The Kuo/Hamilton team posted 25 points to win Flight 3 by one over first round leaders Dillard/Willis and Bowe/Loggins. In Flight 4, Bowser/Barlow won in a scorecard playoff over Raska/Davidson, after the two teams tied with 16 points.

45 holes of Round Robin Net Four-Ball Match Play.
Two competitors play as partners in a 9-hole match
against two other competitors playing as partners,
with each player playing her own ball. The lowest net
score of the partners is the score for the hole. Each
hole will be worth 2 points, a tie will be worth 1
point. The team with the most points after the 45
holes will be the flight winner. The teams will be pre-
flighted into flights of six (6) based on the combined
team handicap index. Maximum spread of partners’
index of 8.0 will be used for the purpose of creating
flights and scoring. Entries are open to female
amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap
Index.
