Dru Fenimore of Dallas and Jason Schultz of Allen, Texas, held a share of the lead and converted to win the North Four-Ball by two over Josh Irving and Scott Volpitto.
Much like the weather, Fenimore and Schultz took a little while to get warmed up at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas, but once they reached the par-4 seventh, they never looked back. A birdie there and three on the back side helped them complete the wire-to-wire victory.
Overall, the pair had rounds of 64-67 for a 9-under 131 total. That left them two shots ahead of Dallas’ Josh Irving and Scott Volpitto in solo second. Both teams started the tournament with 6-under 64.
Plano’s Gant Bills and Dallas’ Michael Ray were third. The pair’s 3-under 67 tied for the low round of the final day and helped propel them up the leaderboard. High School students Matthew Griggs of Keller and Jase Summy of Prosper rounded out the top four by matching their first-round 68 for a 4-under total.
