Reynolds logs one-shot Central Texas Amateur victory

ROUND ROCK, Texas (Dec. 2, 2018) – Jay Reynolds is the Central Texas Amateur champion after pulling out of a two-way tie for the lead in the second round at Forest Creek Golf Club.
Reynolds, who hails from Austin, also qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur earlier this year. He played the 2017 Porter Cup, finishing 61st, and won the Austin City title in 2015 after a back-nine 27 in his opening round.
At Forest Creek, Reynolds opened with 74 and was tied for the lead with Josh Luongo. Reynolds followed with 75 for a one-shot victory over Dalton Hankamer, a Temple, Texas, resident who had rounds of 78-72.
Luongo, a Round Rock resident, tumbled to 77 in the second round to tie for third another shot back with Evan Vo. Luongo won this championship in 2016.
