SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Sept. 9, 2018) – After heading into the second and final round tied for the lead, Darren Fletcher and Jarrett Foote managed to overcome a close battle and clinch the Arizona Four-Ball Title at Camelback Country Club.
It was apparent the duo had chemistry as they carded a two-day total of 21-under 123. The team of Fletcher and Foote started out with seven birdies to shoot a six-under 30 on the front nine. They capped off a back nine at 5-under par, posting which got them to 11-under par for the second round. A 21-under total resulted in a one-shot victory over Abe Candaleria and Adam Walicki.
The pressure was on when Candaleria of Gilbert, Ariz., and Walicki of Phoenix, Ariz., entered Sunday’s round as the four-ball co-leaders. The tandem delivered a superb, bogey-free two-day total of 20-under 124. They carded four birdies along with a single eagle on the par-5 ninth on Sunday morning to finish just one shot behind the leaders.
Bud Roche and Dwight Hietala picked up the senior division four-ball title after delivering two under-par rounds. With eight birdies on the day, the duo fired an impressive 7-under first round. The team carded a 1 under on the final round to close out a five-shot victory at 8 under.
