Furr Earns PGA Tour Sponsors Exemption With Miss. Am Win
BILOXI, Mississippi (June 24, 2018) - Alabama's Wilson Furr had a near perfect week of golf obliterating the 102 man field at the Mississippi State Amateur this weekend. His 11-shot margin of victory would come would come by way of four consecutive rounds in the 60's for a tournament total of 12-under-par (68-69-66-69).
Wilson Furr became the youngest player to ever win the Mississippi State Amateur when he won the title in 2015, but the tournament didn’t offer everything it does now. With the win Furr has also earned a sponsors exemption to the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship was added in 2017.
Hopefully for Furr, the Alabama rising sophomore, will be able to make some some waves in his first PGA Event.
