KENNESAW, GA (May 1, 2018) - Bob Royak, the 10th ranked player in the AmateurGolf.com Senior Rankings, needed extra holes but on Tuesday at Pinetree Country Club he was able to capture the Yamaha Georgia Senior Open.
Royak combined consecutive rounds of 1-under 71 to finish 2-under and end the 36-holes of regulation tied with fellow amateur Chris Hall, the winner of the 2017 Lupton Senior Invitational.
Hall, who combined rounds of 73-69, earned his way into the playoff in large part because of his eagle three on the par-5 16th.
In the playoff beginning on the par-5 9th both players matched pars the first time through and then birdies on the second trip. Needing at least one more hole to settle the matter action shifted to the par-4 6th where Royak sealed the deal by rolling in his second consecutive birdie to best Hall's par.
Professional Paul Claxton settled for third at even-par while amateur William Mitchell and pro James Mason were tied for fourth at 1-over.
