Romano, Spitz inch out Italian Int'l Titles

DONNAFUGATA, Italy (March 18, 2018) - Andrea Romano finished 4-under to win the Italian International Amateur by a stroke over Gianmarco Manfredi who finished 3-under.
Romano, from Italy, combined rounds of 69-70-72-69 at Donnafugata Golf Resort as he improved on his 16th place finish at last years Italian International Amateur.
The win is Romano's second Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Rankings top-10 finish this year after placing eighth at the Portuguese International Amateur.
Jake Bolton and Stefano Ciapparelli shared third at level-par while five others were fifth at 1-over.
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
In a playoff it was Austria's Emma Spitz outlasting Alessandra Fanali after both players finished even-par to win her second Italian International Women's Amateur.
Spitz, who won the title in 2015 as well, combined rounds of 69-74-74-71 to earn her spot in the playoff while for Fanali it was tallies of 70-72-75-71.
