SOUTHERN PINES, NC (March 4, 2018) - One of the top mid-amateur players in the world, Scott Harvey, and partner Brian Westveer shared the lead after the first round on Friday and then took the lead alone in the second round on Saturday before closing the door on yet another Pine Needles Invitational title on Sunday. Playing at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, Harvey and Westveer combined rounds of 68-68-70 to post a 206 total as they earned their fifth overall Pine Needles Invitational title and second straight.
Finishing in a share of second place, three-strokes back, were the teams of Brian Gauley and Mark Gauley (68-71-70--209), and George Kornegay and Wesley Horne (72-66-71--209). Two teams--Stephen Woodard and Brett Boner (71-66-73--210), and Nick Biesecker and Chad Wilfong (71-70-69--210)--shared fourth.
In the Senior Division, Dean Channell and Allan Strange put together tallies of 65-66-69 to finish with a 200 score and a two-shot victory over runners-up Sherrill Britt and Keith Waters (68-64-70--202).
The team of Daniel Neveu and Steve Liebler (68-68-69--205) took third while fourth was shared by the teams of Kelly Miller and Macon Moye (70-68-70--208), and Robin Perkins and David Glabicki (66-68-74--208).

ABOUT THE
Pine Needles Invitational
54 holes four-ball stroke play championship with
open
and senior (both players ages 50+) divisions. The
first
two rounds are best-ball and the final round is
modified
alternate shot. The field will be cut to the low 48
teams split between both divisions following the
second round. The Consulation Round will be played
at Mid Pines.
