Southern California Senior TOC: Steinberg Gets Home Win

SOMIS, CA (November 27, 2017) - Decorated SCGA veteran Craig Steinberg added another SCGA championship to his resume, winning the fifth Annual Senior Tournament of Club Champions at his home club of North Ranch Country Club.
Steinberg was able to hold off Mark Harding of Hacienda GC, winning on the 2nd playoff hole and securing his second Senior Tournament of Club Champions title. Steinberg won the inaugural event in 2013 at Industry Hills GC.
Steinberg was steady on a brisk and windy day on the peninsula, carding three bogeys and a birdie en route to a final score of 2-over par 73. Runner-up Harding finished his round with a highlight eagle on the par-5 fifth hole, a birdie, three bogeys and a double bogey.
Finishing in a tie for third place was Ken Weixel of The Santaluz Club and John Mack of Red Hill CC, who each shot 3-over par 73. Twenty-three players finished within five shots of the lead.

SCGA Senior Tournament of Club Champions
Senior men’s club champions, age 55 and over, are
invited to play in this 18-hole event. The senior club
champion must have a Handicap Index of 5.4 or
below as of the date of registration. They must be an
amateur member in good standing with the SCGA
and a member on the club’s active SCGA roster at
the time they won the championship. This Division
will compete without handicaps. Senior men’s club
champions with a Handicap Index of 5.5 and above
will play in the net divisions. Senior men’s club
champions that have not reached their 55th birthday
by the date of the championship are not eligible for
this Division.
