Wilco Nienaber cruises to Central Gauteng Amateur Victory

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (November 19, 2017) - Wilco Nienaber opened with an 8-under 64 and never looked back as he cruised to victory at the Central Gauteng Amateur. Nienaber followed up his first round play at the Country Club of Johannesburg with rounds of 69-69-67 to finish 19-under and as the eight-stroke winner over runner-up Matt Saulez.
In his stellar first round Nienaber got off to an interesting start with a birdie on No. 1, a bogey on No. 2, an eagle on the par-5 3rd and then another bogey on the 5th. The opening stretch left Nienaber 1-under before he really found his grove playing the rest of his round in 7-under, including Nos. 11-18 in 5-under.
Saulez was second at 11-under, Jayden Schaper took third at 10-under while defending champion Garrick Higgo and David Mcintyre shared fourth at 9-under.
