Teaster, Truett Win Hurricane-Delayed SC Senior Four-Ball
SANTEE, SC (October 29, 2017) - Tim Teaster and Sammy Truett were able to fire the low round of the day and capture the 44th Senior Better Ball Championship at Santee Cooper Country Club.

Despite cold and windy conditions, Teaster and Truett were able to post a bogey free seven under par 65 and a two day total of 131. Kevin King and partner Rick Cloninger finished alone in second place after a second round 67 and two day total of 133.

First round co-leaders Joe Hendrick and Daran Womack claimed third place finishing three shots back.

In the First Flight, Walter Odiorne and Jim Wise claimed top honors after a second round 68 and a two day total of 139. Jim Burgess and Steve Horton finished in second place while Tim Eich and Hueng Kim finished alone in third place.

In the Second Flight, Frank Finley and Lewis Rollins made a big jump to the top of the flight following up their first round 76 with a final round of two under par 70. Robby Bennett and Wayne Howell finished alone in second place at 148. Randy Johnson and Joe Padgette finished in third place after a second round 75 and two day total of 149.

The 2017 Senior Better Ball Championship is one of 21 major championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association. The 44th Annual event was played on the 6,369 yard, par 72 golf course at Santee Cooper Country Club in Santee, SC. The field was broken into three flights after Saturday’s round.

This year’s Championship had to be rescheduled due to the logistical concerns associated with evacuations caused by Hurricane Irma in September.

The Senior Better Ball Championship is an opportunity for good friends to get together and enjoy a weekend of golf at one of the area's finest facilities - Santee Cooper Golf Club. With a better ball format and teams broken into flights after the first round, competition is available at all levels of ability.

A 10:00 AM shotgun start on both days also means that participants won't be spending their entire day on the golf course. Come join us in one of the longest running Senior events in the SCGA Championship series.
