TULSA, OK (July 19, 2017) - For the third-time in the last four years Brendon Jelley has won the Oklahoma State Amateur.

In the title match at historic Southern Hills Country Club Jelley, a senior for Oklahoma State, comfortably defeated Oral Roberts junior Cody Burrows 4&3. Jelley has now won the Oklahoma State Amateur title in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The game began with matching pars but Jelley, a Big-12 First Teamer, jumped in front and took a lead that he would never relinquish with victory on the 2nd hole.

After Jelley took the lead three halves followed before the righty took control of the match with four straight victories on Nos. 6-9 to extend his lead to 5 up. Burrows, the Summit League Golfer of the Year, would win the 14th hole but it was to little to late as Jelley closed out the tilt one hole later.

Jelley, the 11-seed, reached the finals with a semifinal victory over No. 58 Bryce Newell 4&3 while Burrows, the eight-seed, won the 17th hole to edge No. 13 Mason Overstreet 1 up in the semis.

Defending champion Quade Cummins who plays for the 2017 NCAA Champion Oklahoma Sooners, reached the Round of 32 before falling to No. 33 Alexander Hughes 3&2.
