BEDMINSTER, NJ (July 13, 2017) - Rain interrupted play at the U.S. Women's Open at Trump International Golf Club, preventing the first round from being completed and forcing players back out to the course early Friday morning.
Hye-Jin Choi was able to complete her round, a three-under 69 that puts her tied for sixth, only three shots behind leader Shanshan Feng, Choi, who is currently the #2 ranked player in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Amateur Rankings, had five birdies and two bogeys in her round.
15-year-old Rachel Heck of Memphis, TN is also three under, but she was only able to complete thirteen holes of her round and will return at 6:45am Friday morning to resume her round.
Bailey Tardy of Norcross, GA finished with a two-under 70 and sits in a tie for 14th.
Two other amateurs--Dylan Kim and Jennifer Kupcho--are under par, each at -1 but still yet to complete their rounds.
World #1 Leona Maguire of Ireland struggled to a three-over 75.
