Doug Gradwell of Indiana Country Club dominated at his home club in brutal, blustery conditions en route to rounds of 69-71 for a total of 140, 2-under par, to win by 7 at the 77th Dressler Championship presented by LECOM. Gradwell used a pair of late birdies on 16 and 17 to put any doubt to rest. Rick Stimmel of Diamond Run Golf Club, finished runner-up at 147, followed by Erik Bertrand of Chartiers Country Club, in third place at 148.
Gradwell started the final round tied for the lead with fellow club member Kyle Grube after first-round a 69, but Grube faded with an 80 and Gradwell again registered the low round of the day to pull away from the field.
In the Senior Division, Sean Knapp added to his collection of state titles by taking a narrow one shot win over Ed Pudufal of The Kahkwa Club. Knapp finished at 73-77 for a total of 150.
Lee Lykens of Indiana Country Club also used local knowledge to his advantage in winning the Super-Senior Division. Lykens fired rounds of 69-78 for a total of 147 to edge Paul Schlachter of The Club at Nevillewood, by one stroke.
