FORT HILL, SC (April 19, 2017) - Thanks to a first round 3-under 69 Russ Perry is the leader at the 9th Carolinas Super Senior hosted by Fort Mill Golf Club.

Perry, the winner of two Carolinas Senior titles, started his day slowly with bogeys on Nos. 1 and 3 before finding his grove on the 4th with his first birdie of the day. A 9th hole birdie got Perry back to even-par and then birdies on each of the next two holes lifted him to 2-under for the round.

One more dropped shot did come on the 15th hole but he rebounded with consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.

Paul Simson, winner of 31 Carolinas Golf Association titles, is tied for second at 2-under with Dr. Evan Long.

For Simson it was a four birdie, two bogey round while Long birdied six-times against four bogeys. Long birdied Nos. 7-10 in succession.

Charlie Parks is the final player under-par in fourth at 1-under and he is one stroke in front of Dee Blankenhorn, Terry Rathman and Mark Wagner all of whom are tied for fifth at even-par.
