Rowen-Cook claim Indiana Mid-Am Team with Closing 59

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (April 10, 2017) - What do seven birdies and two eagles get you? Well in the case of Sean Rowen and Kenny Cook a bogey-free 11-under 59 and the Indiana Mid-Amateur Team title. After beginning the day tied for the lead the duo was able to surge to a 16-under finish at Highland Golf & Country Club and a six-stroke victory.
Rowen and Cook started the day with consecutive pars before eagling the par-5 3rd, birdieing Nos. 7-10, eagling the par-5 12th and then carding additional birdies on Nos. 13, 17 and 18.
The winning tandem started the tournament with a 5-under 65 on Sunday that included just one bogey and six birdies.
A trifecta of teams shared third at 10-under; Brian Spacey and Matt Fox, Aaron Walters and Joe Miller, Mark Humphrey and Ben Hunter.
Josh Oldham and Chuck Wenning were one shot further back at 9-under in fifth.

Indiana Mid-Amateur Team
This tournament is open to Indiana amateurs who
have reached the age of 30 on or before the first
day
of competition. All entrants must be affiliated with
and IGA-PGA member club. All entrants must
possess a current IGA-PGA BlueGolf approved
handicap index.
The first round is four-ball stroke play, and the
second round is a two-man scramble.
