Preston Gomersall wins Goleta City Championship

Goleta, CA (March 26, 2017) -- Preston Gomersall went wire-to-wire this weekend to win the Goleta City Championship. Gomersall took home the title with rounds of 68-74 at Glen Annie Golf Club to post a 142 tally and win by three shots.
Uncommitted so far, Gomersall is a junior on the Santa Barbara High School golf team.
Florida commit Ricky Castillo is a sophomore in high school and finished second after rounds of 70-75--145. Third place was shared by Parama Chansue (74-72--146) and Andrew Eppright (71-75--146) while Brandon Gama (77-71--148) and Jonny Hogan (71-77--148) shared fifth.
In the Women's Division Gabriella Minier (79-85--164) took home the title and in the Men's Net Division it was Michael Walker (69-67--136) picking up the win after being tied for the lead to begin the day.
ROUND ONE RECAP
The first round lead of the Goleta City Championship belongs to Preston Gomersall and he will carry a two-stoke lead into the final round at Glen Annie Golf Club.
Gomersall, began his week with a 68, that allowed his to set an impressive pace.
In a second place tie are Ricky Castillo (70) and Brett Patton (70), Jonny Hogan (71) and Andrew Eppright (71) are tie for four while Harrison Moon (72) sits in fifth.
Switching over to the Women's Division the pace is being set by Gabriella Minier (79) and in in the Men's Net Division out in front is Michael Walker (69) and Michael Blackwell (69).
