Best of the Weekend: Stanford, FSU Impress and More
(February 13, 2017) -- With the NCAA's just a few months away teams are trying to find their rhythm quickly and at the same time make a statement to the rest of the country.
In their own tournament, the Seminole Match Up, Florida State picked up a fourth win in six events while Stanford flexed their muscle by winning the Peg Barnard Invitational.
On the men's side Northwestern emerged from a knock down drag out fight to win a conference best fourth Big 10 Match Play title.
In the college golf news category Virginia senior Jimmy Stanger received a sponsors exemption into this hometown PGA Tour event, the Valspar Championship.
Also the first of three Arnold Palmer Cup rankings were released. The teams will officially be announced on March 16th to kick off Arnold Palmer Invitational week.
This weekend featured one of the more fun weeks on the PGA Tour with the playing of the AT&T Pro-Am. Jordan Spieth ran away with title but Ken Duke and TV host Carson Daly walked away with some hardware as well.
And how about those Pebble Beach views? For the east coast portion of the AGC team that is currently buried under 1.5 feet of snow the views couldn't have come at a better time! Supposedly spring is almost here in New England....
