A look at who ended 2016 No. 1
(January 1, 2017) -- With the 2016 season now
officially in the books the AmateurGolf.com rankings
for the year
have come to a close so we wanted to take stock and
see who finished the year in the top spots.
Even as we look back the 2017 ranking calendar
has already begun with the Saguaro Amateur, the
first point event of the year is beginning today.
Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Men's Rankings:
No. 1 Harrison Endycott-
The Australian earned points in 11
Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Ranking events in 2016
while picking up five victories. His signature win
came at the end of July when he won the
Porter
Cup.

Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com U.S. Men's
Rankings:
No. 1 Collin Morikawa- A
sophomore at Cal, Morikawa won the
Sunnehanna
Amateur and the AGC 2016 Silicon Valley
Amateur presented by Callaway Golf. The rising star
also finished tied for second at the Web.com Tour's
Air Capital Classic when he lost in a
playoff.

AmateurGolf.com Mid-Amateur Rankings:
No. 1 Scott Harvey- For a brief
time in 2016 Garrett Rank took over the top spot in
the rankings but it wasn't long before Harvey
regained it. His lone ranking win in 2016
came at
the
George C. Thomas
Invitational and he also earned U.S. Mid-
Amateur medalist honors before finishing as the
runner-up to Stewart Hagestad. Overall there were
six top-5 finishes,
including two additional second place showings at
South American Amateur (tied) and Gasparilla
Invitational.

AmateurGolf.com Senior Men's Rankings:
No. 1 Doug Hanzel- Nine ranking
events equated to five wins and nine top-10 finishes.
The victories came at the
National Senior Hall
of Fame, The Hesler, Lupton Senior Invitational,
Florida Azalea Senior and Timuquana Cup Senior.
Hanzel also made a run to the U.S. Senior Amateur
quarterfinals.
AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings:
No. 1 Katelyn
Dambaugh- The South Carolina senior notched
a victory at the NCAA Women's East Regional in May
and tallied four runner-up finishes (two T2's)
throughout the year. Most notably she was second at
the SEC Women's Championship and North & South
Amateur. In all Dambaugh earned points in nine
events during 2016.
