(December 12, 2016) -- On Monday it was announced that Sam Burns of LSU was honored as the November Southern Golf Association Amateur of the Month. Burns, a sophomore for the Tigers, turned in a strong month with a win at College All-America Classic and a second place finish at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic.

In his win at the College All-America Classic Burns closed with an impressive 5-under 66 to finish 12-under and ahead by three-strokes.

During his freshman year at LSU, Burns was named an honorable mention PING All-American with his best finish coming at the Tiger Classic where he placed 4th. Prior to arriving at Baton Rouge Burns was the top-ranked junior player in the country.
