DAYTONA BEACH, FL (December 2, 2016) -- Recent San
Jose State graduate Regan De Guzman is the low
amateur after the third round of LPGA and Symetra
Tour Qualifying School Third Stage. De Guzman is 7-
under and well positioned in eighth place with two
days remaining at the LPGA International Golf Course.
In the third round De Guzman carded a 2-under 70
to move up the leaderboard a bit. Her day included five
birdies and two bogeys. Three of the birdies for the
second team All-Mountain West selection came in
succession from Nos. 11-13. De Guzman really jump
started her week late on Thursday when she finished
her round birdie-birdie-par-eagle.
South Carolina star Katelyn Dambaugh fell back
into a tie for 10th with a third round 1-over 73 that left
her 5-under. Dambaugh got off to a slow start with
bogeys on Nos. 2 and 3 and then just as it seemed like
things had been turned around she double-bogeyed the
16th. The All-American was able to salvage her round
with three back nine birdies, including one on the
closing hole.
