(November 29, 2016) -- Qualifying for the U.S.
Women's Amateur Four-Ball has steadily been moving
along and since we
last updated you a little
over a
month ago five more sites have hosted qualifiers. From
those sites 15 teams have earned their spot into the
event set to be held at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club
in Myrtle Beach, SC from May 27-31, 2017.
From the latest group of teams to qualify one of the
more notable teams is the duo of Jacquelyn Elley and
Tara Joy-Connelly, who punched their
ticket at Legends
Oaks Golf Club in Summerville, SC. The pairing
combined for a 4-under 68 and they were the third of
four teams to qualify from their site.
Joy-Connelly, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, was
recently named to the Global
Golf Post First Team Women's Mid-Amateur
team
after
putting together a season that included a run to the
Round of 32 at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur and a
T10 finish at the Harder Hall Invitational.
Her teammate, Jacquelyn Eleey, is currently a
junior at Georgetown and is coming off a sophomore
campaign that saw her earn First Team All-Big East
honors for the second consecutive year. Her sophomore
year was
highlight by an individual victory at the Princeton
Invitational. Eleey, from Quincy, MA, was also named as
the conferences
Freshman of the Year for her play during the 2014-2015
