Victoria Tsurutis and T.A. Fulmer pair for Charleston City Mixed Team victory

CHARLESTON, SC (November 20, 2016) -- Victoria Tsurutis and T.A. Fulmer combined for 1-under 71 in the final round and they claimed the Charleston City Mixed Team by a stroke. The winning duo finished 3-under at Charleston Municipal Golf Course as first round co-leaders Cass Lambert and Bob Merryman finished runner-up.
Lambert and Merryman couldn't get anything going on Sunday as they posted an even-par 72.
Wanda Torres and Frank Johnson Jr. were a distant third 15-strokes behind the champions, Kristen Biety and Mark Pine placed fourth as Christine Brooks and Troy Malphrus were fifth.
The Senior Division was won in wire-to-wire fashion by Julie Flynn and Nick Avery by an impressive 10-strokes. One day after shooting a 7-under 65 the pairing combined for 3-under 69 and a 10-under finish.
Robin Moyer and Stephen Smith; Terry Rickson and John Weeks shared second at even-par while Denise Sterner and Steve Thomas were fourth.
The Senior Flight was won by Renie and Gary Boehm by two-strokes.
ROUND ONE RECAP
Day one of the Charleston City Mixed Team is in the books and two teams are tied for the lead. The teams of Cass Lambert and Bob Merryman; Victoria Tsurutis and T.A. Fulmer both had identical sides with scores of 36-34 at Charleston Municipal Golf Course to post 2-under.
With the 2-under tally the two teams have opened up a five-stroke lead with 18-holes remaining. Wanda Torres and Frank Johnson Jr.; Kristen Biety and Mark Pine are 3-over and tied for third.
In the Senior Championship Julie Flynn and Nick Avery sprinted out to a seven-stroke lead with a 7-under 65. The duo put together nines of 32-33.
Terry Rickson and John Weeks are even-par in second while Robin Moyer and Stephen Smith sit in third at 1-over.
