SYDNEY, Australia (November 11, 2016) -- With birdies continuing to fall from all angles Australian amateur Brett Coletta could never get anything going on day two of the New South Wales Open Championship and remained at 10-under. One day after leading Coletta slipped into a tie for eighth and that is where he will begin the weekend at Sonecutters Ridge Golf Club.
In the first round round Coletta put together a masterful 10-under 62 but on Friday he didn't have the same magic and had to settle for an even-par 72. Coletta birdied Nos. 3 and 4 to reach 12-under before giving everything back with a 9th hole double-bogey. Heading home Coletta bogeyed the 17th and then rebounded with a final hole birdie.
Coletta will begin the weekend six-strokes behind professional Adam Blyth who is 16-under.
The 36-hole cut was made Friday falling at 5-under and 12 amateurs made it to the weekend at Sonecutters Ridge Golf Club.
