CHARLOTTE, NC (November 6, 2016) -- In a playoff Brett Boner and Stephen Woodard took home the 2016 Carolina Invitational at the Carolina Golf Club. The winner duo combined rounds of 64-65 to finish at 129.

Kevin Fajt and Anthony Baker posted 129 as well with scores of 65-64 but ended up falling in the playoff.

Joe Jaspers and Bubba Aughtry (64-66--130) were third; Robby Bigley and David Boyce Jr. (65-66--131) ended up fourth while Matt Kilgo and Will Thevaos (65-68--133) were fifth

ABOUT THE Carolina Invitational

The Carolina Invitational attracts a strong field and gives Carolina Golf Club the opportunity to showcase one of the finest Donald Ross courses in the country.

Past participants have won the US Amateur, British Amateur, played in the Masters, have been named NCAA All-Americans, and play on the PGA and the Champions tours. The field of 44 teams will be selected by playing resume and past exemption list.

In 2023, the format changed from best-ball to two- man modified Stableford.
