(October 25, 2016) -- Earlier this year it was announced that Hannah O'Sullivan would forgo college and instead attempt to qualify for the LPGA. Initially committed to USC, O'Sullivan informed Trojans head coach Andrea Gaston last April of her plans to try out the professional ranks.
“After taking careful time over several months, Hannah decided that she wants to experience, enjoy, learn and grow through being a full-time college student over these next few years,” O’Sullivan’s father, Greg, wrote in an email to Golfweek.
O'Sullivan, the 2015 U.S. Amateur winner, seemed well on her way to a quick start in the professional ranks after as a 16-year-old she won the Symetra Tour's Gateway Classic. The former top-ranked amateur in the world has played in the last two U.S. Women's Open, making the cut both times.
Rather then recommitting to USC, O'Sullivan will explore all her options.
